Hit Polish Innocence

Today I have a really pretty pink polish to show you. Here's Hit Polish Innocence, which is one of the last polishes I bought from Hit Polish before they went out of business. It was especially made for Valentine's Day.

Innocence is a pink creme base with pink and silver glitters in various sizes and shapes. The main glitters I can see are squares, hexagons, and super tiny glitters. The overall look is very sweet and girly. It kind of reminds me of a strawberry milkshake. The polish itself was really easy to work with. The first coat was a tad sheer and even though it was opaque by the second coat, there were some bald spots, so I used three coats in the end. I applied one coat of top coat to make it smooth and shiny.

I'm really happy I was able to get this polish before the shop officially closed. It's cute and has a great formula. What more could you want? There was another that I was hoping to get but it had sold out before I could. Oh well! You win some, you lose some.

Candy Lacquer Sweet Hearts

I feel like a broken record, but today I have another cute and girly mani that is perfect for Valentine's Day! Here's Candy Lacquer Sweet Hearts layered over the last mani I posted, NYC Pink Champagne and CoverGirl Pink Twinkle!

Sweet Hearts has light and darker pink glitters in various shapes and sizes, such as hexagons, squares, really tiny bars, and cute hearts. I love this mix! It's so adorable. I'm so glad I was able to get my bottle from a blog sale, which lately, have become my weakness. I used one coat of Sweet Hearts, plus a second coat of dabbing. I love how this combination turned out. Sweet Hearts applied very well and I didn't have to fish for any of the glitters. I was able to get a heart out for all but two nails, which made me really happy. It dried bumpy, so I needed three coats of top coat to make it completely smooth.

Even though I really don't celebrate Valentine's Day, I still love all of the cute polishes you see this time of year! I just love all of the hearts and flower glitters. So far I'm not tired of pink polishes. I have a few more that I'll be showing as Valentine's Day gets closer.

NYC Pink Champagne & CoverGirl Pink Twinkle

Unfortunately my nails are yet again nubs. This time it's my fault, because lately I've developed this dumb habit of picking at my polish and peeling it. They were weak and bound to break. I'm really mad at myself but I know they'll grow back quickly. Today, I have two mainstream polishes I'm going to show you, one of which I posted about a few days ago. Here's NYC Pink Champagne and CoverGirl Pink Twinkle!

I love this combination! Both polishes make for a lovely look. What you see is one coat of Covergirl Pink Twinkle over three coats of NYC Pink Champagne.

That aside, I have a love/hate relationship with Pink Champagne. First off, I'm just not a huge fan of NYC polishes to begin with. They're cheap and sometimes the quality reflects that. I still wanted to give Pink Champagne a chance because it's gorgeous in the bottle. The color is a very pale pink with golden shimmer. It's like the pink sister of Sinful Colors Cinderella. I also chose to wear it because I didn't feel like wearing a dark polish that would highlight just how short my nails are. I wanted something soft and subtle and Pink Champagne definitely fits the bill. Application wasn't all that bad. It was sheer on the first coat but by three coats it was okay. Here's my problem though. It took freaking forever to dry. I had it on for hours and it still got dents and smears. I didn't do thick coats either and I waited a while between each one.

So, Pink Champagne is definitely a pretty color but I don't know if it's pretty enough to justify waiting for the long dry time. I almost gave up and took it all off. I just love it so much more with Pink Twinkle on top. I would still give it a chance if you're able to. Maybe you'll have better luck with it than I did.

Hit Polish Antique Rose

I've been wanting to wear a lot of girly and romantic manis lately, especially with Valentine's Day coming up. Today I have one that I absolutely love! Here's Hit Polish Antique Rose layered over OPI My Vampire Is Buff.

Antique Rose is without a doubt one of my favorite polishes by Hit Polish. It's a very beautiful combination of gold and rose hexagons, in various sizes, and circle glitter. I used My Vampire Is Buff as my base because I love that it's a creamy, light nude and it's mellow, in comparison to a stark white. Both polishes were easy to apply. I used two coats of My Vampire Is Buff and Antique Rose had great glitter coverage in just one coat. It dried surprisingly smooth for a glitter, so I just needed one coat of top coat.

I don't know why but my pinky looks so weird in most of the pictures I took, so I had a hard time choosing what ones to add for this post. Oh and try to ignore the top coat that looks like dry skin. I didn't realize until I was editing.

Polishes like Antique Rose remind me why I love Hit Polish so much! Though they are closed, they still remain to be one of my favorite indie brands.

I don't have many plans for this weekend, but I am definitely going to be waching the Los Angeles Kings and Anaheim Ducks game that's taking place at the Dodger Stadium tonight. Candy Lacquer Sugar Flowers

Hey everyone! How has your week been so far? Mine has been pretty great. I recently found out that my younger sister is going to be a mommy. I cannot wait to be an auntie again! I personally hope she has a boy, but above all, I just want her to have a healthy baby.

I love it when you're able to turn one mani into several manis just by adding a new polish to it. With my Wet n Wild How I Met Your Magenta and CoverGirl Pink Twinkle mani, I was able to do just that by adding a glitter that I'm going to show you today. Here's Candy Lacquer Sugar Flowers!

Sugar Flowers is the first Candy Lacquer I ever bought but I just counted the other day and I now have 40 something of their polishes, more than any other brand. They're easily one of my favorites. Sugar Flowers is a very pretty glitter with flowers in dark pink, light pink, yellow, and blueish white, hexes in various sizes in the same colors, and some iridescent glitters too. Like I said, I layered it on top of the mani I last posted and I love how it turned out! I think the pink golden base goes perfectly with the colors in Sugar Flowers. Formula wise, it was very easy to apply. What you see is just one coat. I did have some trouble getting the flowers out but that's expected when you have larger pieces of glitter. I topped everything off with two coats of my Orly top coat.

I think this is one of my favorite manis I've created so far this year! I couldn't take my eyes off it. I even got a few compliments while at work. If you love glitter, I totally recommend that you check out Candy Lacquer! Sandra makes the absolute best glitter combinations I've seen.

Wet n Wild How I Met Your Magenta and CoverGirl Pink Twinkle

How did your weekend go? Mine was pretty boring but I was able to watch some movies, which is always nice. I've realized that I haven't been giving my mainstream polishes much attention, so today I have a mani featuring two mainstream polishes. It's girly and sweet and could double as a Valentine's Day mani, so here it is!

This is Wet n Wild How I Met Your Magenta, a pink jelly with gold shimmer, with CoverGirl Pink Twinkle, a shimmery pink flakie layered on top. I tested these polishes together to see what they would look like first and I really loved how it turned out. I've worn How I Met Your Magenta before and did a post on here a while ago. As for Pink Twinkle, it's a really old polish in my stash. I've probably had it since my high school years, maybe even earlier, and from the looks of the bottle, I apparently loved it! Though, I can't recall wearing it. Both polishes are easy to apply. How I Met Your Magenta is somewhat sheer, even at two coats, but it's a jelly, so that's to be expected. Pink Twinkle on the other hand only needed one coat and it was really dense. I really like how the shimmer in How I Met Your Magenta and Pink Twinkle compliment each other.

I really love these together! I just love playing around with my polishes and creating new and beautiful looks like this one. I hope you like it as much as I do!

Naild'it Unique Nail Polish Sir Round Sound

How is everyone's weekend going so far? I hope good! My weekend has been very laid back so far, but I really don't mind. I was going to post another Valentine's Day mani but I decided to hold off until later. I had no idea what polish to grab until I saw my unused bottle of Naild'it Unique Nail Polish Sir Round Sound, which happens to be the first of two polishes I own from the brand. I was lucky to find my bottle in a blog sale, which was perfect for me since I had been wanting it ever since seeing a swatch of it.

Sir Round Sound is such a crazy, eclectic mix of glitters! It's a white crelly loaded with glitters in various shapes and sizes. The colors include black, pink (light and dark), blue, teal, and silver and some of the shapes include squares, hexagons, small circles, and large black circles. Like I said, there's a lot going on but it works! It kind of has an 80s vibe in my opinion. I like that it's crazy and different. The formula was great! The first coat was sheer but not nearly as sheer as some white polishes can be. What you see are two coats. As for the glitter coverage, it was amazing! I got so much on my nail on the first coat alone. I was even lucky to get a few black circles out with no digging required. I used two coats of Sir Round Sound with two coats of top coat.

I love love Sir Round Sound! It's such a fun and unique polish. I don't think I've seen anything quite like it. Thank goodness for blog sales! 

Hit Polish A Certain Romance

The indie brand Hit Polish is sadly no longer. They officially closed on January 4th. The thing is, I have so many of their polishes that I haven't worn, so I hope you don't mind when I post them on here. Today I have a really pretty one that is very appropriate for Valentine's Day, even though I don't have any plans to celebrate the day, being single and all. Still, I love the idea of romance, and a polish that makes me think of it is even better. Here is Hit Polish A Certain Romance!

A Certain Romance was one of their new polishes but was very limited edition with just a handful of bottles being sold. It's a very light and creamy white crelly, with glitters in various shapes and size. There's pink micro-glitter, pink hexagons, pink squares, black shards, black squares, some of which look like rectangles, black stars, silver stars, silver shards, and last but not least, silver stars. Whew! All of it works together beautifully though and makes for one unique polish. The colors in it kind of remind me of a 50s poodle skirt outfit, especially because of the black and pink.

The formula was really great and much better than I anticipated. The base was a little thick but in a good way. It allowed me to have great coverage in just two coats, though a third probably wouldn't have hurt but I didn't find it all that necessary. It had a bit of a bumpy surface when dried, so I topped everything off with a layer of Sally Hansen Insta-Dri top coat.

I had such a hard time capturing this color in the shade. This is the only one that turned out somewhat decent.

I'm glad I was able to get my hands on A Certain Romance before the shop closed down. It's really beautiful and even though I'm a huge fan of their glitter toppers, I love that this is different. It's a nice change.

On a side note, yesterday I spent a little time organizing my polish area in my room and damn, I have way too many untrieds! It's kind of sad how many I have yet to give attention to. I really need to go back through them and see if there are any I can live without. Maybe I'll have a blog sale in the near future.

Pipe Dream Polish Twigs and Berries

Hey! I hope you all had a great weekend. Mine was pretty good. I did some shopping on Friday with my mom and niece and then on Saturday I went to Universal City Walk with a friend, where we had a dinner and went through some of the shops after. I was planning on posting this yesterday but I wasn't able to edit my pictures in time. Anyway, here is Pipe Dream Polish Twigs and Berries!

Twigs and Berries is so unbelievably gorgeous! I just knew I had to have it when I saw a swatch of it over black. It is made up of purple, pink, and blue circles, squares, and hexes in a clear base. All of the glitters are holographic. Not only is it super pretty, but it is for a great cause. It was made for prostate cancer awareness and for every polish sold, $2 will be donated to the Movember Foundation. How cool is that? It is absolutely loaded with glitters, especially the circles, and getting them on the nail was pretty easy. What you see is one coat of Twigs and Berries over Sation Lollipop! Goes The Princess. I really like how this combination turned out but next time I am definitely going to try it over black.

Twigs and Berries is the first Pipe Dream Polish I've bought and I love it! I actually have two more of their polishes on their way to me. I am very impressed with this brand and totally recommend them.

Sation Lollipop! Goes The Princess

Hey! I'm off for a few days, so I've finally had some spare time to do my nails. Today I have a really simple but pretty creme to show you. Sation Lollipop! Goes The Princess probably has one of the cutest polish names I've come across. It's from their 2013 collection Candylandia. It's a very pretty lavender creme. It applied like a dream in two easy breezy coats, dried fairly fast, and I barely had any clean up.

However, something very weird happened when I added a coat of my Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Top Coat. It went from being a super light purple, which almost looked blue, to a darker lavender shade. When compared to the color in the bottle and my right hand thumb, which had no top coat at the time, they looked like two completely different colors. It looks as if I've layered a sheer purple jelly on top. It's hard to tell in my photos but it's much more noticeable in person. I've never had a problem with my top coat before, so I'm not sure what caused this.

Despite the weirdness I experienced with this polish, the color is still gorgeous! I love purple, so obviously I love it. Next time I will test out my top coat to see if I come across the same problem. I'm going to look for a pretty glitter to use on top and then I'll be back with another post. Laquerlicious Twinkling Lights

Today I have a super gorgeous polish to share with you! I'm currently wearing it as we speak and I had all intentions to wear it before the Christmas season was over, but life got in the way. Home Alone was playing while I painted my nails and it actually made me feel like the holiday season was still here, so to me it's still seasonal appropriate. Anyway, enough of my rambling, here is Laquerlicious Twinkling Lights!

Twinkling Lights marks the first time I am wearing a Laquerlicious and there's no better way than to start with a bang! It's a shimmery goldish base with gold and silver glitter in various shapes and sizes, as well as tiny multicolored glitter. Like I said, it is so gorgeous and stunning! It really does twinkle. I saw swatches online and I knew I just had to have it. As far as I know it's very unique too. It was a little thick but not nearly as thick as other polishes I've used and I had no trouble whatsoever in application. It was also opaque enough that I didn't have to use a base for it. Two coats gave perfect coverage. It didn't dry completely smooth but it wasn't very gritty either. I just used two coats of top coat and all was good.

I'm so happy with Twinkling Lights! It's beautiful, unique, and one of my favorite Christmas polishes to date. What I love most is that it can easily be worn anytime of the year, especially on a day where you feel like wearing something sparkly.
